SANTA CLARITA LIVING
Your weekend in the valley · from Michelle and Jon Dubner
This is one of those Santa Clarita weekends when the hardest part is choosing. Circus Vargas is opening under the big top, The Rink is finally opening its doors, and October is packed with ways to get out close to home. Jon and I checked the dates, times and official links Wednesday. Details can still change, so click through before you head out. Here is the fun-first list for October 9 through 11. |

 | This weekend's fun-first shortlist A circus opening, free skating and a full local weekend See Circus Vargas at Valencia Town Center, be among the first to skate at The Rink, climb for a cause at Central Park, taste chili for Special Olympics, or spend Sunday with the rescue animals at The Gentle Barn. |

Circus Vargas arrives at Valencia Town Center October 10 through 19 with aerialists, acrobats, juggling, comedy and a two-hour show designed for all ages. Tickets start at $25, and children under 2 may sit on an adult's lap at no charge. The official ticket page lists each available performance and seating section. Use the official ticket page. Circus Vargas warns that tickets from unauthorized sellers will not be honored. |

 | Behind the Brand Why this week made us smile Jon gets a brand-new sports pavilion, I get four canyon trails, and families get a circus, rescue animals and a chili cook-off. This is exactly what we want this newsletter to do: make it easy to see how much there is to enjoy close to home. |
